Taylor Alison Swift is one person you can always count on to do what she promises. With Swifties from all over the world coming together to honor the star’s groundbreaking career, the Eras Tour may just be the biggest event of the year. Every night is an incredible celebration of music, ardor, and pure joy. It is also, without a doubt, a breathtaking fashion show, with fans dressing to the nines for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
With more than forty different ensembles worn during the tour, Taylor Swift is front and center, the center of attention. The stage itself serves as the ideal runway for the pop icon of the twenty-first century, who, since the start of her musical career at the age of fourteen, has constructed an unbreakable empire. Styled in anything from gilded gowns to jewel-encrusted bodysuits, Taylor Swift continues to demonstrate her timeless appeal.
The Lover Era
Would you kindly stand for a moment to show your appreciation for these stunning looks, ladies and gentlemen?
Wearing an exquisite handcrafted Versace bodysuit, Taylor begins her performance of “Miss Americana and the Heartbreak Prince.” The bodysuit is accessorized with a pair of knee-high, studded boots from Christian Louboutin, the tour’s exclusive footwear supplier. She even occasionally adds a new Versace necklace to each suit for that added flair. The blue, pink, and purple gems are a bright version of the pastel-hued album artwork for Lover. This bodysuit is occasionally replaced with ones that are akin to it in blue and gold or that have gaudy purple fringe tassels and beading.
For “The Man,” Taylor kicks up her feet in a relaxed stance to reveal Christian Louboutin’s iconic red bottoms. She also throws on a dazzling silver or black pinstripe blazer, both by Versace, to create a sharper effect. It would be a century-long understatement to say we are obsessed.
The Fearless Era
Wearing a gold-toned custom Roberto Cavalli garment with glittering fringes that flow with every movement, Taylor dances like a fierce woman fit for the Fearless period.
The outfit comes in two more variations, each adorned with Swarovski crystals. Her bedazzled guitar perfectly completes the ensemble, with its silver fringes fluttering and shifting as she moves around the stage. Indeed, there is a love story between the audience and this gorgeous ensemble.
The Evermore Era
Taylor’s Evermore outfit has a unique mustard Etro dress that sways like a willow in the breeze, channeling cottage-fairy-core against a backdrop of lush flora.
Another Etro dress in the shade of bronzed burgundy was the alternate appearance for this segment. Taylor uses her best colors to paint us a picture of melodies with her voice as the concert settles to a calming lull, forgoing frills and gems in favor of elaborate beading and ruffled hems.
The Reputation Era
With a striking, asymmetrical custom Roberto Cavalli bodysuit that has a crimson snake wrapping down her leg, Taylor amplifies the opulent, flaming glam factor tenfold. It’s unfortunate that “Gorgeous” was left off the final setlist because, well, Taylor is so stunning it aches. The black and red costume, adorned with sequins, is strong and unapologetic.
The Speak Now Era
This evening is shimmering, just like Taylor, who dazzles us with a variety of elegant floor-length outfits during the Speak Now portion of the performance.
Some evenings, she dons a bespoke gown by Nicole + Felicia embellished with gold sparkles, or a gown by Zuhair Murad that, with its sparkling details, looks like a pink supernova. She has also worn two more gowns by Nicole + Felicia, one of which was layered with different shades of purple in reference to the iconic cover graphic of the Speak Now album, and the other sparkling and blue.
This collection also includes two stunning haute couture gowns by Elie Saab, one with a floral design fresh from the Fall/Winter 2022 runway and the other an opulent pale pink tulle gown. The costumes for this group have varied the most, but one thing is always the same: every gown will leave you feeling completely mesmerized.
The Red Era
Ashish, who created Taylor’s recognizable “Not a lot going on at the moment” graphic t-shirt in her “22” music video, created everything from this set specifically for her. The singer takes us back to her “22” days with this same T-shirt that now reads “A lot going on at the moment.” She accessorizes the ensemble with a black Gladys Tamez fedora. One night, the shirt said, “Who the heck is Taylor Swift anyway? Ew.,” alluding to a line from the song; on another, it says, “We are never, ever getting back together.”
She takes off the shirt to show off a shimmering red and black ombré romper underneath for “I Knew You Were Trouble,” then she dons a floor-length jacket in a similar style to perform the 10-minute rendition of “All Too Well.” The ensemble is so remarkable that you will also remember it very well. It is worn with a red guitar.
The Folklore Era
Taylor wears numerous flowing items from Alberta Ferretti to evoke the gentle, rural tone of this era.
The first item is a lilac dress that sways with every step. It has flared sleeves and chiffon ruffles. Another, in an off-white color, exudes elegance with its tiered draperies and crystal embroidery.
Ornate embroidered leaves and mesh detailing give a green dress a playful touch, while a shimmering blue dress with cape sleeves billows in the breeze and is so gorgeous that it will make you want to sing, “It’s not like any other shade of blue except you.”
The 1989 Era
Taylor rocks the sparkles and fringes during her 1989 segment, channeling her 1989 world tour look with a custom Roberto Cavalli top and skirt. Every square inch of the fabric is covered in a variety of sequins, and the ensemble is finished with equally stunning Christian Louboutin ankle boots.
She has already donned the two-piece outfit in magenta, blue, orange, and green, but there will undoubtedly be more colors in the future. In any case, there is only intense affection for each iteration of this ensemble that has yet to appear—not animosity.
Swift unveiled a new two-piece Roberto Cavalli ensemble for the European leg of the tour, along with mismatched footwear. This new ensemble, which includes a skater skirt, is evocative of her 2014 debut album 1989. Since then, the singer has donned mismatched variations of the ensemble in orange, yellow, purple, and blue, seeming much like the pop princess that took the globe by storm.
The Acoustic Set
For the acoustic set, which features two different surprise songs every show, the drama is once again tamed down. Taylor, who frequently collaborates with designer Jessica Jones, most notably for her Reputation stadium tour, wore a magenta ruffled dress with pleats for “Tim McGraw” on opening night. She has now replaced the outfit with identical versions in green, yellow, and blue.
The Tortured Poets Department Era
Swift’s eleventh studio album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” was published in April 2024. It was immediately featured in a newly added segment during the tour’s European leg. Swift sang a number of brand-new songs during her appearances, such as “Fortnight,” “So High School,” and “But Daddy I Love Him.” She looked magnificent in a white taffeta dress with dramatic hip draping and a corseted bodice during these performances. Her own phrases, including “I love you, it’s ruining my life,” were embroidered on the dress’s skirt and studded with black crystals. She added white Louboutin lace-up boots and a large necklace with the house’s recognizable three-row Orb design by Vivienne Westwood to complete the ensemble.
Swift then accessorized her gown with a band jacket that included frogging and epaulettes in the style of the military so that she could sing “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived” with a marching band.
Subsequently, Swift changed into a second Vivienne Westwood ensemble while still on stage. She donned a gunmetal grey bustier, briefs, metallic heels, and a custom silver tailcoat with black crystal encrusted lapels this time.
The Midnights Era
Taylor makes a spectacular comeback for the concert’s last act, bringing with her plenty of fur, glitter, and midnight colors. She arrives at the set in a lavender haze, decked out in a special purple fur coat by Oscar De La Renta, a loose-fitting dress adorned with iridescent crystals, and black Louboutins with studs that reach her knees.
A glitzy Oscar De La Renta custom bodysuit in midnight blue and black with bejeweled tassels and exquisite beading to mimic the beautiful night sky is worn underneath the dress.
For her performance the next night, Taylor adorns a bodysuit by Zuhair Murad that glistens throughout the venue. It’s a deeper, more vivid blue hue with a scalloped bodice pattern. Sometimes, this bodysuit is switched out for a midnight blue version from the same company that has sheer slits on the belly and flowing beaded fringes. The matching garter is included with both bodysuits for a seductive twist.
For the final song, “Karma,” a variety of ostentatious coats with tassels are worn over these bodysuits. The coats come in a variety of colors, from hot pink to an intense multichrome kaleidoscope burst.
While Karma may be a deity, Taylor certainly appears to be one when she’s decked up in all these gorgeous outfits.
