Darrell Sheets, star of Storage Wars, disclosed in the Unlocked television series special that he had discovered a plastic-wrapped corpse inside a locker he purchased in 1988. Sheets claims the police informed him that a guy had killed his wife and left her inside the apartment.

2. American Idol competitor Paula Goodspeed, who was supposedly “infatuated” with judge Paula Abdul, committed herself in 2008 “a few doors down” from Abdul’s Los Angeles residence. She had been “ridiculed and flatly rejected” by the judges during her audition when she appeared on the program (during Season 5 in 2006).

ABC News reports that Abdul then revealed to The View’s presenters “that Goodspeed had been stalking her for 17 years” and that “she begged Cowell and the producers not to let Goodspeed audition,” as she told co-host Barbara Walters on Walters’ radio show.

Robert Buchel, who starred in My 600-Lb Life’s sixth season, passed away during production. As reported by Distractify, Buchel “was seeking Dr. Now’s help when he came in at 840 pounds and managed to drop 340 pounds with the help of the celebrity bariatric surgeon.”

In May 2011, outside of his Los Angeles home, Gabriel Ben-Meir, a music supervisor for MTV’s Punk’d and other shows, was shot and murdered. “Two suspects, Jabaar Vincent Thomas and Destiny Young, were later charged with second-degree murder,” The Hollywood Reporter claims. The officials claim that robbery was the motivation.”

During a search and rescue operation for a four-person crew in Season 3 of Deadliest Catch, the search revealed “one survivor, an empty survival suit, and two dead crewmen floating in the water.”

Gerald Babin, a competitor on the French edition of Survivor, passed away while the show was being filmed. After engaging in a tug-of-war competition and diving from a boat, Babin suffered from cardiac arrest. Production was halted as a result, and the program was canceled for the 2013 season.

A physician named Thierry Costa, who had treated Babin in an emergency and worked on Koh-Lanta, committed suicide a few week later. Costa claimed that the death of Babin had “sullied his name by the media” in a suicide note.

In 2015, two helicopters crashed during the production of another French reality program called Dropped, killing ten people. It was billed as an adventure reality show that would track eight athletes who would be abandoned in the wilderness while wearing blindfolds. Following the unfortunate event, the concert was canceled.

While filming Battle of the Exes 2, Diem Brown, a cast member of The Challenge, passed out on set in 2014. Her ovarian cancer spread to her stomach and intestines, necessitating emergency surgery at a New York hospital. Footage of her journey from Panama to NY for the operation was included in the show and marked her final comments on the show, “I’m at a point in my life where I want to just live life,” before she died on November 14, 2014.

David Gibbs, a 59-year-old helicopter pilot, Michael Donatelli, a 45-year-old cast member, and show staff member Darren Rydstrom, 45, were among the casualties.

19. Lastly, in September 2006, Steve Irwin, the host of Animal Planet’s The Crocodile Hunter, passed away due to a stingray puncturing his chest with its tail spine. Irwin was “doing some shallow water shots for his daughter Bindi’s TV show, Bindi the Jungle Girl,” according to The Hollywood Reporter, when the stingray attacked him. At that point, the authorities declared him dead.
