1. I believe in love because of Noah and Allie’s kiss in The Notebook.
Let’s start with the classic that gave me utterly irrational romantic aspirations in middle school. We have the chemistry, the unreal hotness levels, the buildup, and THAT RAIN! Adore! This kiss is the epitome of film noir.
2. But I find the kiss between Luke and Leia in Star Wars to be very unpleasant.
Alright, so even if they don’t realize it when they kiss, Luke and Leia are related. And not just any unknowing distant relative either. Alas, no. They are a sister and a brother. As in, twins! shivers I pray I never, ever witness a kiss like that in a movie again.
3.The most romantic wedding moment ever is when Will and Elizabeth kiss in the midst of a fight in Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End.
Though it may seem a bit odd for my favorite wedding kiss, bear with me: An impromptu nuptials exudes romanticism. You can tell they’re meant to be together based on their flawless coordination and combat choreography. and proposing marriage to Barbosa, of all people! Very humorous! The couple’s developing love and laughter throughout the series are well captured in this moment. And my goodness, the rain-soaked, passionate kiss that was captured by the camera around them is so beautiful.
4. However, Pitch Perfect 2’s kiss between Bumper and Fat Amy is just too intense.
We can all probably agree that a little tongue may become a bit heated AF. However, tongue is like hot sauce—a little amount goes a long way. The kiss between Bumper and fat Amy is a perfect illustration of wayyy too much. You’re definitely overdoing it if your tongue is slipping into his nostrils. The kiss is obviously intended to be extravagant, funny, and all that, but I find it to be a little excessive.
5. In Slumdog Millionaire, Lakita and Jamal’s kiss demonstrates that love overcomes all obstacles.
Recollections flash across the screen as Jamal rushes toward Latika at the train station, reminding you of the grand scale of their voyage and the immense effort they put in to be together. When he notices her scar, she looks down, but he gives it a gentle kiss to reassure her that she is still wonderful in spite of her past experiences. And then their lips meet in a way that melts your heart. It also sets up one of the greatest dancing sequences ever!
6. The first kiss between Ginny and Harry in Harry Potter, however, lacks any spark.
Harry and Ginny’s romance is nothing short of epic in the novels. It’s a horrible monstrosity in the movies. It was not Ginny Weasley’s birthright to tie Harry Potter’s shoes! I’m assuming a male penned the scenario, but I’m not sure. Rolls eyes Nevertheless, all of their kisses are really painful to see and embarrassing, especially the first one, when even the actors appear utterly uninterested. There really is secondhand shame.
7. I can’t get the kiss between Peter and Mary Jane from Spider-Man out of my head.
I was eight years old when this movie was released. I had no idea that it was possible to kiss someone inverted! Watching it was very amazing, despite my mother’s attempts to shield my eyes. It still seems very hot. Taking off a superhero’s mask long enough to give him a kiss on the lips? Yes, kindly!
8. However, Love Actually’s kiss between Mark and Juliet is superfluous.
This kiss will never make sense to me. Happily, Juliet is a newlywed! Her hubby is Mark’s best friend! She shouldn’t go into the street and give him a huge, fat kiss just because he has the guts to express his emotions! A peck on the cheek is understandable, but ON THE LIPS? Nah, sweetheart. It goes too far.
9. The kiss between Cecile and Kathryn in Cruel Intentions was a cultural revolution.
To be quite honest, this is one of the sexiest kisses I have ever seen. Although I am aware that Kathryn is essentially the original Regina George, this lip action just had to make the list. Sarah Michelle Gellar + Selma Blair + TONGUE? Superb.
10. All parties involved are harmed by Bella and Jacob’s intense Twilight kiss.
Bella is only asking Jacob to kiss her because of fear that he would accompany her into war and perish. She’s manipulating his emotions in an attempt to get him to remain. I think that’s not very polite! Why is she kissing Jacob since she’s already declared that she will wed Edward? To be fair, Allie from The Notebook also had a fiancé during her big kiss, so it’s not only the infidelity that irritates me. It’s that she’s playing him like a puppet. Then he walks off to continue fighting! What chaos.
11. A Cinderella Story’s kiss between Sam and Austin is the epitome of perfection.
All that’s happening here is chef’s kiss. Austin breaks out of his football jock cool guy persona and dashes up the bleachers to give Sam a kiss. Recall how she compared waiting for him to waiting for rain during this drought when she told Austin that? And then, BAM, their lips meet! The sky parted and descended upon them! The meaning! Furthermore, whomever selected “Hear You Me/May Angels Leave You In” deserves a prize since it’s the ideal background track.
12. Guys, the kiss between Penny and William in Almost Famous is not cool.
When William enters the room, Penny is high on quaaludes. He pulls her up and makes her dance awkwardly before saying, “I love you, and I’m about to boldly go where many men have gone before.” He calls for a doctor after that. And he gives her a kiss! She actually slumps into the floor as he releases his grip. Kissing a female who isn’t in a suitable state of mind to offer permission is NEVER acceptable. Additionally, it is superfluous for him to make fun of how many guys she has kissed.
13. The kiss between Kevin and Chiron in Moonlight is such a lovely scene.
Because of their dramatic and flamboyant romanticism, some of the kisses on this list are very amazing. However, as this kiss demonstrates, it need not necessarily be a huge production! An passionate, quiet moment may sometimes have just as much of an effect. Part of what makes Chiron and Kevin’s kiss so genuine and unique is its unhurried gentleness.
14. However, I find it impossible to relate to Josie and Sam’s troubled kiss in Never Been Kissed.
Yes, there’s a lot of build-up, with Sam running onto the baseball field at the last second, and other exciting stuff. But come on, he’s been in love with his high school student—who just so happens to be old enough—for all this time? Before he discovered the truth, they had even danced together at prom! I apologize, but I just don’t think much of student-teacher interactions.
15. Peter and Lara Jean’s steam room kiss in Is the stuff of adolescent aspirations, according to All the Boys.
I like how Lara Jean and Peter work things out together first. Folks, communication is essential! This sets the stage for an incredibly tender first kiss. Hugs, staring into each other’s eyes, relaxing in a hot tub, excellent music…What more could you want from an adolescent comedy?
16. However, the kiss between Hedwig and Casey in Split really scares me out.
The figure played by James McAvoy has 24 unique personas, one of which is 9-year-old Hedwig. He requests to kiss Casey, an adolescent abducted by Dennis, one of the other personas. Although James and Anya Taylor-Joy deserve praise for their outstanding performances, this whole situation is simply depressing and strange.
17. The kiss between Noni and Kaz in Beyond the Lights is a tribute to all girls’ natural hair.
For helping Noni with her concerns with appearance and self-worth, Kaz is a king. He approaches her, gives her a deep kiss, and then scatters tender kisses over her natural hair as she chooses to snip off her hair extensions. I like this moment so much because she’s at last coming to terms with who she is, and her partner is being (appropriately) totally supportive.
18.Regarding Jurassic World, Claire and Owen’s kiss seems a little self-serving.
The timing of this kiss is what’s bothering me. Owen and Claire, who work at the park, share some of the blame for this debacle. It is their duty to apprehend a group of enormous, terrifying dinosaurs that are roving the area and mutilating humans. Is this really the right moment for a long kiss? I doubt it. Even the dinosaur specialist Owen almost had his face eaten away! Thus, please put everyone’s needs first and worry about romance afterward.
19. And lastly, one of the greatest kisses in movie history will always be associated with Rose and Jack from Titanic.
I like how this kiss built up to it! After Rose witnesses a mother teaching a little child proper manners, our lead character resolves to stop letting other people control her life. She thus disregards prudence, leaps onto the front of the ship beside Jack, and gives the man who has won her heart an incredible kiss. When paired with the instrumentals of “My Heart Will Go On,” it becomes a very powerful moment and one of the most recognizable kisses ever.
